Go Green!

Henry went to his first MSU football party tonight! Even though he slept through the entire game (I don't know how with all the yelling!), he had a fabulous time. He wore his Lil' Spartan onesie, and State booties and hat that his Aunt Kate bought him. Before the game, we had a little photo shoot with him in his MSU gear.....more pictures to follow tomorrow:)

Go State!

I just realized that almost a whole day has gone by, and I hadn't taken a picture of Henry yet! God forbid I miss one day of capturing him:) This one was taken right before we put his PJ's on for bedtime......Have a good night!

From our friends in Turkey.....

....A HUGE fruit bouquet! Thank you soooo much, Sami and Alexis! Alexis is one of my best friends, and partner in crime from our days at Michigan State University. When she met Sami, we were so happy for her...He is the best! Sami grew up in Istanbul and came to the U.S. for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. They met while both working at Johnson & Johnson, fell in love, got married, and now live in Istanbul.
It is hard to believe that this time last year, Mike and I were there for the most amazing wedding celebration we have ever been to. We had the best time exploring the city, sunning at the beach clubs in Bodrum, going to Ephesus, eating the best Turkish food, going to the parties, and most of all, being a part of their wedding!
Happy One Year Anniversary!!! We really miss both of you, and can't wait to see you in November.....Henry can't wait to meet you.

Tesekkurler! Karpuz and Dur....sad, that is all the Turkish I retained:)!!!

There goes the neighborhood.....

Check out Henry with his new neighborhood friends! They all couldn't wait to meet him, and made him a welcome home sign....before we know it he will be running wild with his new buddies!

Happy Birthday, Holly!

Meet Holly.......she is our dear friends, Bob and Michelle's, little girl. Isn't she the cutest thing you have ever seen? Today is her First Birthday! Henry wanted to take her flowers to mark the occasion. We know they will be lifelong friends. And we can't thank Bob and Michelle enough for all of the support they have given us over the past couple months. It is so fun having a "big sister" right down the street from me! We don't know what we would do without them!!!
Happy Birthday Holly!

Time Flies!

Today Henry is one week old! I can't believe it, he has changed so much already. Mike and I took him to his first Doctor's appointment, and he is now 8 pounds. We were not surprised he is back to his birth weight with the way he likes to eat! Speaking of that...time to feed him again!

Aunt Claire meets Henry for the First Time!!!

Thank you Grandma!!!

Help! My mom left yesterday, and I don't know what to do without her!! She was soooo wonderful to have here- she cooked us meals, cleaned our house, baked, did all the laundry, changed poopy diapers, and was always up for holding Henry! I think Henry is going through withdrawls, and so am I. She assured me I would survive without her, mostly in part to my amazing husband!

Feel free to come back and move in with us, Mom! Thank you so much! We miss you!

Thank you......

....For all of your e-mails, comments, text messages, and phone calls!!!! We really appreciate it....we have the best family and friends! Here is a photo of Henry and I a few hours after he entered the world (pay no attention to the champange glass in the lower right, I was just holding that for someone else:)!!)

I plan on posting a bunch of photos today. We literally have hundreds, I don't know how I will choose! Yes, we are those obnoxious parents who have managed to video tape and photograph every moment of his life. We are so happy, I can't wait to share with you. But for now, since Henry is sleeping, I am going to try to sleep as well. See you back in a bit!

Baby Frey is on the way!

My water broke at midnight! After over an hour of strong contractions, 5 minutes apart we left for the hospital. I got an Epidural at 5 am, epidurals rock! Here we are 11 and a half hours into labor and Baby Frey stills seems quite content. Baby Frey is currently "sunny side up" which is not ideal for delivering. If this baby doesn't rotate ASAP, he or she is grounded for life. We'll keep you posted.

Update

Mike and I went to the Doctor's office today for a set of post-due date tests. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor to watch the baby's heart rate, and Baby Frey passed with flying colors! Then we had an ultrasound to check the amniotic fluid levels, which were also perfect. During the ultrasound, we had a hard time getting a view of the baby's head, since it is down so far at this point....the only thing she was able to pick up on was one of the ears! This was a little disconcerting to me, because if anyone knew me as a child, you would remember I had HUGE ears! They looked ridiculous, and my grandmother always wanted my mom to tape them back as an infant in hopes of preventing them from sticking out so much:) I hope I have not passed on the big ear curse to my baby.....yikes.

But on to the good news.....My Dr. is going to be on call all day/night on the 20th, so we have
scheduled an induction! I will be going in tomorrow night at 9:30 pm to start the process (if I don't go into labor before then), and she thinks I will have the baby sometime during the day on Wednesday the 20th! How exciting!!!! (Truthfully, I am beyond scared of labor and delivery, but it's too late to back out now, I should have thought of that 10 months ago!)

So Mike, Bailey, and I plan on spending our last evening together relaxing (and eating gobs of food, since I heard they starve you in the hospital), until baby makes four!

Wish us luck!

Is that girl walking an empty stoller?!?!

I really don't know why the neighbors were staring at me....who says a girl can't take her stroller out for a spin without a baby?!?!? Don't they know I'm now TWO DAYS overdue, and I can do what I want! Ever since the stroller arrived at my doorstep, compliments of our dear friends, Sami and Alexis, I've been taking it out on small test drives....just practicing for the real thing:) I would have thought by now small frey would be in it, but it's too stubborn to come out. Not even a visit from Grandma Colleen and Great-Aunt Eileen could coax the little one out! So here I sit, still fat and pregnant...my face and fingers are starting to swell, and we may have spotted my first stretch mark.....unbelievable! Come out Baby Frey!!!!!!!!!!

What's wrong with this picture??

.....TODAY IS MY DUE DATE!! I should be holding our baby in my arms, not in my stomach!

We are so excited to meet you, why do you insist on making a fashionably late entrance?

I'm starting to think this baby has it too good, and would prefer to hang out in my belly eating the peanut butter cup flurries, ice cream, and pizza it has been enjoying this last week. It must be having too much fun.....

These are the times when I feel like I will just be pregnant forever.
